Automobiles, Bicycles, Airplanes, all of these vehicles have changed people’s lives. However, I think Airplanes have changed people’s lives tremendously, because of 2 reasons: first, airplanes provide very quick transportations, and second, they provide long distance travels easily.
First, before airplanes have invented, it took very long time to travel, because people can’t go straightly to the destinations because of some preventable stuffs such as rocks, rivers, etc. However, airplanes can fly above those preventable things, and thus people can straightly go to the destinations. As a result, airplanes can provide fastest transportation. For example, if you leave Japan today, on the following day, you’ll be in the U.S. This can’t be happened with transportations other than airplanes.
Second, people can go overseas easily using airplanes. Probably there were fuel improvement, yet airplanes provide people long distance travels. This changed people’s lives dramatically. For example, I’ve been to the U.S. by airplane, but I couldn’t manage my condition to the U.S. because of jet rag. Other transportations, such as automobiles, trains, ships can’t transfer as fast as airplanes can. Thus, people can manage their conditions (or time difference) on the way to the destinations.
Airplanes have many characteristics that other transportations don’t have. Therefore, I believe airplanes have changed people’s lives tremendously.
